Tuesday Happened: Fall Doings

We’re sure there are many things to celebrate today (Native American Heritage Month, the blue wave, and a new moon on the way for a true mid-season this coming weekend), but we also just live. Living is highly underrated these days — we are very aware with those struggling to survive in all the myriad of terrible ways right now, but we forget to notice when things are fine, too (though relatively so). Here, things are fine. We are ok.

We go about our days collecting seeds, making food and eating together, noticing the small things that are working enough. It is so easy to get swept under by the demands of eking out a living (especially with no job, though it is not like we don’t work, we work a lot and have for many years without a ‘job’ — and it’s hard to go back, despite not qualifying for any assistance or insurance or other benefits). We read, we sew, we art, we write, we bake, we try and focus on the situation at hand.

We’re on a precipice. Things are about to change in big ways for us, but we can do nothing about it until all the stars align. So, we wait. We make tentative plans. We live.
